Caring for a Senior Horse

Horses are living longer than ever. With the average age of a horse ranging from 25 to 30, it’s no longer uncommon to see a steed live well into their 30s.

Dressage rider Cheryle Oshman Blunt regularly rides Karison, her 30-year-old Norwegian Fjord. Karison’s veterinary care hasn’t changed much as he’s aged, except for frequency, so any changes in his weight, teeth, eyes, or joints are identified quickly.
